What you need to know for Challenge Cancer

Our community has stepped up to CHALLENGE CANCER, and we cannot thank you enough. Because of your support, Challenge Cancer has raised more than $250,000 and counting this year! These funds will fuel our mission to advance the fight against cancer through cancer research and education, patient support, and community outreach.

Because of Challenge Cancer participants and donors, women without health insurance will be able to receive a mammogram. Cancer patients who need to get to chemotherapy or radiation will have free transportation. Cancer research that could lead to the next big breakthrough in how the world treats cancer can be funded.

All of this is possible because of YOU!

Here is everything you need to know about virtual Challenge Cancer:

Packet Pick Up

Thursday, Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 11 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Fleet Feet Memphis 4530 Poplar Ave, Suite #102 Memphis, TN 38117 (Laurelwood Shopping Center)

Packet Pick Up will be outside in the breezeway next to Fleet Feet. Masks are required. We will be adhering to strict social distancing practices for the health and safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff.

If you opted to have your packet mailed to you during registration, our friends at Start 2 Finish and Bluff City Sports have already shipped your packet to you.

Virtual Closing Celebration

Even though we won’t be celebrating at Shelby Farms together this year, we can still celebrate the fight against cancer on Saturday! Tune in to our Facebook page at 11 am on Saturday for our virtual Closing Celebration. During this time we will be recognizing top fundraisers, drawing prize winners, and announcing our fundraising total.
We encourage your to show your support for West Cancer Foundation and Challenge Cancer by sporting your event t-shirt and/or bib while you cycle, run, walk or spend time with your loved one.

In your packet, you will receive a ribbon and a sticker. It is a tradition at our events for participants to write their reason to fight on against cancer on these items and proudly display them at the event. We encourage you to take your ribbon, write your reason to CHALLENGE CANCER, and display it somewhere that will remind you of this. Share it with us using #CHALLENGECANCER and @westcancerfoundation on social media.

Virtual Survivor Ceremony

It wouldn’t be a West Cancer Foundation event is we didn’t honor those whose lives have been touched by cancer. This year, in lieu of our survivor ceremony, we will be posting a survivor celebration video on Saturday. To include your loved on (or yourself) please submit a photo, name, and brief message to jwalker@westcancerfoundation.org.

Deadline for inclusion is 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11.

Our 2020 Participant Guide is attached below!

There is still time to fundraise! Use this weekend to share your reason to CHALLENGE CANCER with your friends and family via social media, email, or even over the phone and ask them to support your fundraising efforts for West Cancer Foundation. No dollar amount is too small to make an impact in the fight against cancer!

Thank you,
#CHALLENGECANCER
